What does CentOS stand for? It stands for Community Enterprise Operating System, which is the most preferred choice for all the Linux distribution on the Internet. It is based on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server and is therefore a free operating system that is supported by a large community online. Rackbank, one of the few prestigious data center companies in India provides services for CentOS dedicated servers in India and collocation services as well. It is an open source platform developed by ardent developers all over the world and is based on donations.

This is why Microsoft joined forces with Red Hat in late 2015. We started by making Red Hat solutions available natively to Microsoft Azure customers, delivering integrated enterprise support across hybrid environments, collaborating on .NET for a new generation of applications, and more. Last year we announced that we would bring SQL Server to Linux, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Since then we’ve continued to work together to bring these and other solutions – and, with it unmatched choice and flexibility – to our customers. In that spirit, with this week’s announcement a customer running OpenShift can use Linux and Windows containers together in a single cluster, they can use .NET Core 2.0 in a container on OpenShift, and SQL Server on either operating system and OpenShift, either on Azure or in their own datacenters. This just extends our customers’ ability to choose the right technology for the right job and have them work together. It is pretty cool to see this come to life, even if it was inconceivable not long ago.
Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) cards are used to accelerate analytical solutions, machine learning and deep learning, and engineering/modeling applications. GPUs are used in parallel with CPUs for processing and advanced computation capabilities which allow certain applications to run faster. The following GPUs are available for deployment in your Rackspace dedicated server:
A: Each dedicated server is unmetered and connected on a 10Mbps port. This means that you can sustain 10Mbps up/down for as long as you need without incurring any extra charges, alternatively a 100Mbps port is available for an additional charge. If you decide that a 100Mbps port is the way to go you can either pre-purchase bandwidth at a commit of 20Mbps or above, or you may chose to just pay for what you utilize. Please keep in mind that all bandwidth is calculated within the 95% percentile saving you money!

Because CentOS is the free version of Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), it does not come with any support by default, like you might expect from RHEL. That said, there are many third parties who are capable of supporting CentOS. Your hosting provider can certainly provide support for you, or if you need additional assistance, you can always contract with one of many third party management companies.
Linux is a Unix like computer operating system assembled under the model of free and open source software development and distribution. The defining component of any Linux system is the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released October 5, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux system distributions may vary in many details of system operation, configuration, and software package selections. Linux is a leading server operating system, and runs the 10 fastest supercomputers in the world. In addition, more than 90% of today's supercomputers run some variant of Linux.
Hello Praveen, You need to follow this tutorial completely. You need to install PHP, MySql, Apahe Http server. Moreoevr you can install other servers like Tomcat, Glassfish, Jboss on your centos. I have followed this tutoral and really it is very helping and written by keeping a beginner in mind. In case you need any help please mail me at [email protected]
RAM and fast multi-core CPUs allow a system to do more simultaneously, for example serving more visitors on your site. Plan on increasing performance by optimizing with RAM-caching? – More RAM means getting a larger, super-fast cache for your server. Performance isn't the most important thing to consider – your server must not corrupt data. We only use ECC (Error Correction Code) RAM because it's designed to protect against data corruption by detecting and automatically correcting errors while data is written to the memory. In addition to error correction, our Commercial Class Servers use Registered ECC memory which allows our servers to reach extremely high RAM capacities to provide all the resources you need for your project.

Starts with a brief interview to assess your software requirements and determine which server or upgrades would optimize your workload. In this case we recommend starting with 3 Elite Dedicated Servers – two front-end servers for better performance and failover between them with the third as a database server. We help you setup your CDN account (CloudFlare, Incapsula, etc.) to load balance the cluster and provide the best worldwide connection without costing you a fortune. As your business grows, we can add additional front-end servers for better performance and additional database servers for improved redundancy.
Managed Backup is included with your dedicated server solution. It includes differential daily backups and full weekly backups, with two-week onsite retention. If you require more frequent backups or longer retention periods, we can design a backup solution that meets your business needs. Our backup engineers will work with you to design a backup protocol to reach your recovery time objective (RTO).
Solid-state drives, or SSDs, are the cherry on top of a powerful hosting sundae. SSDs refer to the type of disk in the server that stores your data. Hard-disk drives, or HDDs, are the traditional option that have been around for 60-some years and feature a spinning platter and a read/write arm that uses magnetism to store the data. SSDs, however, have no moving parts and instead house information in flash microchips. SSDs are much faster, but the newer technology means the drives are more expensive and typically come with smaller capacities. That’s why many web hosting providers include SSDs as a paid upgrade or as part of a more expensive plan.
Each and every switch port on our network is monitored for bandwidth, errors, discards and other anomalies. You have 24×7 web-based access to graphs that detail your bandwidth utilization by speed, and data transfer over time. You can also monitor your server health (CPU, disk use, memory, disk I/O, system load average). As an additional service, we can set alerts for you if thresholds are exceeded.
