Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 was released this week, on Tuesday, December 6th, and contains a number of updates to the May 2011 release of RHEL 6.1. Functionality enhancements in RHEL 6.2 include optimization in virtualization, resource management, High Availability (HA) configuration, identity management, storage capabilities, and overall server performance.
Today we made some exciting announcements along with Red Hat around container support. We’re adding Windows support in OpenShift, OpenShift Dedicated on Azure and SQL Server support in OpenShift and Red Hat Linux to our joint roadmap, and extending the integrated, co-located support that has been a signature of our partnership. You can read all the news in the press release here.
Create a script to launch the server with your desired options and settings. For simplicity's sake, place it in the same folder where the server files were downloaded. On Windows, this is a batch file; on Linux, this is a shell script. Examples are provided below. For both platforms, the server options are specified with the same basic syntax. For Windows, create start_server.bat: and place it in YOUR_ARK_SERVER_FOLDER/ShooterGame/Binaries/Win64/ (remove the '<' '>' symbols!)
Apart from the fact that it's freely distributed, Linux's functionality, adaptability and robustness, has made it the main alternative for proprietary Unix and Microsoft operating systems. IBM, Hewlett-Packard and other giants of the computing world have embraced Linux and support its ongoing development. More than a decade after its initial release, Linux is being adopted worldwide as a server platform primarily. Its use as a home and office desktop operating system is also on the rise. The operating system can also be incorporated directly into microchips in a process called "embedding" and is increasingly being used this way in appliances and devices.

Every Dedicated Server comes preloaded with APF. APF is a well known and respected software firewall that utilizes the built in Linux routing system (iptables). The firewall will be configured to prevent access to all ports but ones necessary for servicing the site. Certain services, like SSH, are blocked by default to help prevent common attacks. During the setup process we can add your IP addresses to allow access to whichever services you deem fit.
As the premier platform provider for enterprise workloads, Red Hat works side by side with engineers from major hardware vendors and cloud providers to make sure that the operating system takes full advantage of the latest innovations. Dedicated web servers are for those who want all the power to themselves without having to share any of it with other users and their customers. Dedicated hosting, as opposed to shared hosting, is a hosting solution that's all yours. In a shared hosting environment, you share a server's resources with other users with running on their own virtual servers and sharing the hardware resources. With a dedicated solution, you get your own Linux dedicated server with all of its resources to use as you please for your website. That means all the bandwidth, RAM, CPU, and data transfer are all yours. Essentially you're renting a complete server from us.
